The Exotac polySTRIKER XL Ultra-Light Ferrocerium Rod Firestarter is a waterproof fire-starting tool that works by using a combination of a ferrocerium rod and an ultra sharp tungsten carbide striker. This tool is the perfect companion for outdoor survival.

How to Use:

• The rod has a protective coating from the factory, which can be removed with a few scrapes of the striking tool - now you are ready to strike for sparks
• Remove the striking tool by pushing through the back of the handle
• Place the striking tool onto the rod at a 45 degree angle, so the sharp edge will scrape the rod
• Quickly scrape the striking tool down the rod, carving material from the rod
• When striking, use moderate pressure and high speed when scraping the rod
